Crazymonkies.com: Crazy is unrecognized genius.

 Electronic picture frame.

This is an amazing project. This originally started out in late 2001 as a crazy idea; which quickly developed into one of those projects that everyone is interested in. I stopped working on it after creating my original "frame", and recently have brought out the old code and packaged it for general consumption.

So what is this 'pictureframe'? Well, think of a framed picture you have on you dresser; now lets have those pictures change every few seconds. Cool eh? -- well not so much anymore - companies caught on and made portable devices. These are great if you have the money to spend, but not so much if you don't. Not to mention the fact that you can remotely update the screen over the network! All you need to make your own basic screen is about 1/2 hour, an old laptop, and a network connection. Dis-assembling the laptop and mounting it inside the frame is outside the scope of this page; however if you wish to do that, it will probably add another hour onto the project time.
